Public Kick-off Meeting

The Kick-off Meeting was held February 19 at the Conyers City Council Chambers, 1184 Scott Street.  The meeting was the first public information opportunity where a community dialogue on a vision for the Conyers LCI was initiated.  The meeting consisted of an overview presentation, a question and answer session and then the participants worked on a SWOT analysis by answering the following questions:

a) Strengths of the study area
b) Weaknesses of the study area;
c) Opportunities (list some opportunities to make the area better that should be taken advantage of-especially "low-hanging fruit");
d) biggest Threats;

Share your vision of what you would like the area to be known for in the future.

Development and Mobility Charette Workshop
April 2, 2009

The Development and Mobility Charette was held on April 2, 2009 with approximately 40+ participants in attendance.  The participants had the opportunity to work with different land use, transportation, and urban design scenarios.  The Workshop included a presentation for orientation and public education.  Additionally, there were breakout sessions to identify the community`s perception of the study area`s transportation needs and options, land use issues, and urban design themes and standards. The end product will include a conceptual transportation and land use plan for the Conyers LCI, as well as a set of preliminary urban design concepts.

Critique Public Meeting
April 23, 2009

The Critique Public Meeting allowed the public to review and comment on the preliminary conceptual transportation and land use plan.  The goal of the meeting was to refine the concepts for the final documentation.

Open House
June 4, 2009

An Open House was held on June 4, 2009 after draft recommendations were formulated.  The Open House included a presentation of the recommended actions, as well as an informal period of questions from the public and answers from the City staff and project team.  Written comments were also collected.
