The intent of the study is to provide a plan for achieving future development and redevelopment at a density and scale that will enhance existing property values, create new customers and markets for existing businesses, create connections between this area and Olde Town Conyers, and provide determine public improvements needed within the study area.
Goals of the LCI
- Encourage mixed-use development
- Promote commercial and residential infill to accommodate traditional neighborhood development
- Expand living, working, shopping and entertainment opportunities
- Provide a mix of residential housing types (single-family, two-family, and multi-family dwellings)
- Incorporate 10% low income and senior living housing
- Provide safe travel ways for pedestrians and bicyclists
- Identify bike routes and create a bikeway plan
- Identify locations for traffic calming strategies
- Identify pedestrian routes and corridors and implement a pedestrian crosswalk program
- Address active and passive recreation needs, including parks, trails, and greenways
- Explore the opportunity to establish a citywide transit shuttle system
