Columbus is moving forward with the process of updating its Comprehensive Plan. A community`s Comprehensive Plan provides policy and planning guidance on the physical development and redevelopment of the area. It addresses a range of issues related to maintaining and improving the quality of life in Columbus as we grow over the years: population forecasts, land use, transportation, economic development, housing, preservation of natural and cultural resources, community facilities and services, and intergovernmental coordination. It also guides the day-to-day decisions of the City Council regarding zoning and improvements to public facilities. The new Comprehensive Plan will help us prepare for the year 2028 - another 20 years that are sure to bring many more changes.
