Columbus is moving forward with the process of updating its Comprehensive Plan. A community`s Comprehensive Plan provides policy and planning guidance on the physical development and redevelopment of the area. It addresses a range of issues related to maintaining and improving the quality of life in Columbus as we grow over the years: population forecasts, land use, transportation economic development, housing, preservation of natural and cultural resources, community facilities and services, and intergovernmental coordination. It also guides the day-to-day decisions of the City Council regarding zoning and improvements to public facilities. The new Comprehensive Plan will help us prepare for the year 2028 - another 20 years that are sure to bring many more changes.

Plan News and Milestones Open Houses.  A series of three Open Houses were held on June 23, 24, and 26 to present the recommendations of the Plan. The Draft Community Agenda will be posted soon for public comment.
